When you are a four-time World’s Strongest Man, your gym has to the absolute illest. For strongman Brian Shaw, that means dropping a cool $150,000 on gym equipment to keep himself in peak condition. The certified buff dude gave fans a tour of his gym via his YouTube channel, and shed light on his personal workout routine along the way.
In the 17-minute video, Shaw shows off several pieces of custom equipment that your typical gym just doesn’t have. Many of the machines have been made to fit the 440-pound strongman’s massive 6 foot 8 inch frame. Some pieces include a reverse glute-ham rig that even the most seasoned gymgoers might not be able to identify, a massive leg press that’s unlike anything you’ve seen, and a back attack machine that runs more than $8,000 alone.
“I don’t even know how much money I’ve spent on all of this stuff…” Shaw says in the video. “Just in plates and bars alone, it’s literally a ridiculous amount of money I’ve spent on those. And to me it doesn’t matter. It’s money that I’ve gladly spent. I like having all the right training tools in the gym, so I’m not worried about spending money, as you guys can see.”

With a $15,000 Swisswing for recovery, a special reinforced area for his Atlas stones, and natural stones for training, Shaw’s gym contains a lot more than mere iron, too. And that’s what makes the gym worth all the envy.
“You all kind of know how much I love Atlas stones, so that is a staple of any strongman gym,” Shaw says in the video. “That’s definitely something you have to have.” Taking notes yet?
Shaw also shows off some simple Thomas Inch dumbbells, which he says is one of his favourite things to have in the gym. That’s right: Even among all those custom pieces of equipment, a classic strongman staple reigns supreme.
“If anybody comes in the gym, I always ask them if they can lift one up,” Shaw says. “That’s always kind of a fun grip test first thing when they walk in the gym.”
