While it comes as no surprise that 85 per cent of participants admitted they enjoy being spanked, it’s the other BDSM variants that will truly shock you.
75 per cent admitted they enjoy being bitten by their partners, while a staggering 38 per cent of women in the kink community admitting to enjoying ‘knife play’. If that wasn’t weird enough, 36 per cent also reckon ‘blood play’ gets them going.
In case you wanted to know, knife play is a form of consensual BDSM edgeplay that involves knives, swords and daggers. Many find it alluring due to the ‘mental and physical stimulation’ it provides.
Blood play is a bit more disgusting which involves you cutting your partner or your partner cutting you, then smearing blood onto each other’s bodies and sometimes even drinking your partner’s blood.

Jennifer Eve Rehor – study author and relationship expert in San Diego – also revealed that 76 per cent of ladies are into ‘light bondage’, with 35 per cent even participating in ‘forced cross-dressing’.
Well, each to their own. This study confirms there are actually different strokes for different folks.
